Top 10 Reasons for Volunteering at Nationals!

Here it is, folks. The definitive list of the Top 10 Reasons for Volunteering at Nationals:

10. Each time you volunteer, your name goes on a ballot for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from Walmart, Canadian Tire or Sears. 12 ballots will be drawn at the Banquet on Sunday. If you volunteer more than once, you can win more than once!

9. You will learn and understand the finer points of IPF rules – very handy for your own lifting!

8. You’ll be in lots of pictures of the Championships. Plus, spotters get to wear great looking Titan platform gear!

7. It’ll save you money - there’s free food and beverages for volunteers at the breaks!

6. You’ll get to see the action from the best seat in the house.

5. You’ll be able to add this line to your CV: “Volunteer worker at the CPU Canadian National Powerlifting Championships, April 2010″.

4. You will meet and work with people you know you can trust in this sport – the cream of the crop!

3. You’ll stand out from the crowd, and people will know you and remember you at next year’s Nationals in Charlottetown.

The new schedule is out…

The new schedule has been posted on the Schedule page of this site. It reverts back to the old schedule as far as weight classes and age groups are concerned. But to accommodate the large number of men in the 82.5, 90, 100 and 110 weight classes, there will most likely be an additional session added on both Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10. Stay tuned for details on how these sessions will be scheduled.

Final schedule is still not set… don’t change plans yet!

The final decisions regarding the lifting schedule have not yet been made. Don’t change your flight plans or your hotel booking until the revised schedule is official!

SCHEDULE CHANGE

There will most definitely be a schedule change due to the fact that there are too many lifters in the mens 90 weight class and up.

Here is what is most likey to happen:

Thursday: ALL women , Men 56-67.5

Friday: Men 75, 82.5, Sub-Juniors & Juniors scheduled on Saturday (90, 100, 125 & 125+)

Saturday: Men 90 kg & up (Open & Masters)

There is no change for the bench press only competition schedule on Sunday.

Final schedule should be out by Wednesday or Thursday.
Stay tuned….

Best lifter awards…
